Do African-Americans excuse racism? Do Black Americans excuse other blacks who distrust or hate whites? Is Black racism African-Americans dirty little secret? That was the focus of the last "Our Voices".

The guests included Brian W. Jones, president of the Center for New Black Leadership, Darlene Kennedy, National Advisory Board of Project 21, a program of the National Center for Public Policy Research, and Frank H. Wu, assistant professor at Howard University School of Law.

The panel discussed how some groups designed for specific ethnic groups (like the Italian Club) can be exclusionary without being racist, but how some Black organizations are accused of being racist when merely being exclusionary. The panelists also discussed the differences between discrimination, bias and racism.

Brian W. Jones, president of the Center for New Black Leadership
In this soundbite (WAV), Jones refutes those who say that it's not possible for Blacks to be racists, because a minority without the power cannot be racist.

Frank H. Wu, assistant professor at Howard University School of Law.
Listen (WAV) to Professor Wu talk about why Asians may succumb to the white majority stereotypes of Blacks, even though Asians themselves are victims of stereotypes.
